Formed in September 2005, The Gout Education Society is a nonprofit organization of health care professionals dedicated to educating the public and health care community about gout arthritis, and the related health care consequences of hyperuricemia. With the aim of improving the quality of care and minimizing the burden of gout, The Gout Education Society offers complimentary resources for both the public and medical professionals.
With gout incidence on the rise, the need for gout education is more important than ever.
Today, more than 9.3 million Americans are living with gout – with only 10 percent receiving needed, ongoing treatment.
