Gout and Obesity


Obesity is defined as someone who carries excess body fat severely out of proportion to their height is obese. An obese person is four times as likely to develop gout as someone with a normal body weight.  The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a calculation to help determine if you’re at a healthy weight or at risk for obesity.
